How Long Does a New Boiler Install Take?

Planning a replacement? Here is exactly how long you can expect the job to take.

Standard Replacement: Usually 1 Day

If you are replacing your existing boiler with a similar model (like swapping an old combi for a new Worcester combi) in the same location, it is typically a same-day job.

🕒 What We Do in 1 Day:

  • Remove and dispose of the old boiler
  • Install the new boiler and adjust pipework
  • Install new wireless controls or smart thermostat
  • Flush the system to remove debris
  • Test, commission, and register the warranty

This applies to most of our Fixed Price Packages.

What Might Take 2-3 Days?

Some installations are more complex. If we are changing the type of system you have, it takes a little longer.

System Conversions

Example: Removing a hot water tank to install a Combi boiler.

  • Removing tanks from the loft/cupboard
  • Running new pipework
  • Upgrading gas supply pipe

Relocation Jobs

Example: Moving the boiler from the kitchen to the garage or loft.

  • Drilling new flue holes
  • Extending pipework
  • Brickwork repairs

We will always give you a clear time estimate during your quote, so there are no surprises.

Will I Have Heating?

For most standard swaps, you won't be without heating or hot water overnight. If the job takes longer than a day, we will keep you updated and can provide temporary heaters if needed.

📋 How to Prepare for Your Install:

  • Clear the area around the boiler (and tanks if applicable)
  • Keep pets and valuables safely out of the way
  • Ensure someone is home at the end of the day for the handover
