How your repair visit works

No jargon and no faffing about. Here is exactly what happens when we arrive to fix your boiler.

Gas Safe engineer diagnosing a boiler fault in a Fife home

Boiler repaired and tested by a Gas Safe engineer in Fife
3Step three

We fix it and test everything

We carry common parts for the major brands, so most repairs are completed on the first visit. We test the system, tidy up, and back our workmanship with a 12-month guarantee. Your heating and hot water are back, properly.

Common breakdowns

Boiler problems we fix every day

From the everyday to the awkward, these are the faults we see most often across Fife. We carry common parts for Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal and Baxi, so most are fixed on the first visit.

No heating or hot water

Our most common winter call. Causes range from a simple reset or pressure fix to a failed diverter valve, pump or PCB. We find the real cause, not just the symptom.

Low boiler pressure

Pressure dropping below 1 bar is very common and often a quick fix. But if it keeps falling there is usually a leak or faulty part behind it that needs a proper look.

Boiler error codes

Modern boilers flash a code to tell you what is wrong. Never ignore one. We know the common codes on every major brand and can usually clear the fault on the spot.

Boiler keeps switching off

A boiler that fires up then cuts out is often low pressure, a blocked condensate pipe (common in cold snaps) or a faulty sensor. We diagnose it properly so it stays on.

Banging, gurgling or noises

Kettling, banging or gurgling usually points to sludge, trapped air or a failing pump. We find the source and stop the racket before it causes bigger damage.

Leaks and dripping

Any water around the boiler needs attention before it damages parts or your home. We trace the leak, fix it, and check nothing else has been affected.

Repair with confidence

Honest pricing, work you can trust

You are not calling a national call centre. You are getting a qualified local engineer who takes pride in getting it right.

12-month workmanship guarantee

Every repair we carry out is guaranteed for 12 months. If the same fault returns, we come back and put it right.

Fixed prices, no surprises

The £108 visit covers diagnosis and the first hour. If parts are needed we quote a fixed price first, so you always decide before we spend a penny.

Manufacturer-approved parts

We fit genuine, manufacturer-approved parts that carry their own warranty, typically 12 months, so the fix lasts.

Common questions about boiler breakdowns

Everything you need to know about getting your boiler fixed in Fife.

We charge a fixed diagnostic and initial repair fee of £108 inc VAT. This covers the call-out and our first hour of labour to investigate and fix the fault. If we can fix it immediately without extra parts, that is all you pay.

We are based locally in Priory Lane, Dunfermline, not a national call centre. We can often attend same-day or next-day for breakdowns in Dunfermline, Dalgety Bay and the surrounding Fife towns. Call us before midday for the best chance of a same-day visit. Lines are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

If your boiler needs a specific part, our engineer will quote you a fixed price for the part and the return fitting time before we order anything. You are free to accept or decline. We carry common parts in the van to fix as many faults as possible on the first visit.

Almost certainly. We are experienced with all major manufacturers including Worcester Bosch, Baxi, Ideal, Vaillant, Viessmann, Potterton, Glow-worm and Alpha. If we can get the parts, we can repair it.

Our engineers are honest. If your boiler is over 12 to 15 years old and the repair is expensive, we may advise that a replacement is more economical. We will never pressure you. We present the options and let you decide.

Yes. Any parts we supply come with a manufacturer's warranty, typically 12 months, and our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months. If the same fault returns within that time, we will come back and investigate.
