Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common boiler and heating queries

+Which boilers can you service?

As fully trained heating engineers, we can service gas boilers from all major manufacturers. From Alpha, Worcester Bosch, Baxi and Glow-worm to Vaillant, Vokèra and Viessmann, we have hands-on experience with most boiler brands on the market.

If you are not sure which boiler you have, just send us a quick photo of the data badge or front panel and we can confirm it for you.

+How much does a boiler service cost?

Our boiler service packages start from around £70, with most customers choosing a service between £80 and £110 depending on what is included.

For up to date pricing and what you get with each option, please have a look at our pricing page.

+How often does my boiler need a service?

We recommend booking a boiler service once a year.

An annual service helps spot small issues before they turn into costly repairs, keeps your boiler running efficiently and is usually required to keep your manufacturer warranty valid.

+Who can repair my leaking boiler?

Most boiler faults involve gas and combustion, so they should only be worked on by a qualified Gas Safe heating engineer.

While we handle all central heating system pipework, valves, and radiators, any work inside the boiler casing or on gas pipework must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered heating engineer like our team at The Heat Network.

+What heating services do you offer?

We specialise in central heating and boiler services that keep your home warm and comfortable.

Our typical jobs include boiler installations, boiler servicing, boiler repairs, radiator installations and repairs, central heating system pipework, TRV and valve replacements, heat pump installations, hot water system repairs, and power flushing.

We focus on what we do best so you get expert service every time.

+Will a service fix my broken boiler?

Not usually. A boiler service is designed to keep a working boiler safe and efficient, rather than to diagnose and repair a fault.

If your boiler is not working properly, we will normally need to carry out a repair visit first to find and fix the fault. Once it is running correctly again, a service can then be completed to check everything is safe and set up as it should be.

+What areas do you cover?

We are based in Dunfermline and cover a wide area across Fife and The Lothians.

Typical areas include Dunfermline, Dalgety Bay, Inverkeithing, Rosyth, Kirkcaldy, Lochgelly, Burntisland, South Queensferry, Winchburgh, and Kirkliston.

If you are not sure whether we cover your area, see our Areas We Cover page or get in touch.
